Cactus Bunny Pin Cushion - Free Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

Free Amigurumi Crochet Potted Cactus Plant Plattern by Momomints

Can you believe it's already July?! We're half way through the year which means we are already busy planning and prepping for the busy holiday season! It seems a bit crazy to be thinking about Christmas ornaments in July but we're pretty excited about all the things we have planned. Which you will have to wait and see :) In the meantime, we found an old pattern for a cactus bunny pin cushion. M made this pincushion to store all her pins and needles when assembling the amigurumis so they don't get lost. Plus the pins and needles look like the cactus spikes. Please continue reading for the free amigurumi cactus bunny pin cushion pattern!

Pattern

In this pattern we use a crocheting technique called the Magic Circle as well as some basic crochet stitches. Please familiarize yourself with these techniques before continuing. There are many crocheting tutorials available on the web and on YouTube that are readily available.  We have listed a few helpful reference links at the end of this pattern. For the body and ears you will be using the back stitch technique. The back stitch is inserting your crochet hook through the back 'v' stitch of the next chain. Please see this very informative tutorial on the freshstitches blog. She does an excellent job at explaining how to do the back stitch.

Assembly

Once all the parts are made you can start attaching the ears to the body with the yarn needle and blush the cheeks with pink ink if you like. We made ours to look like our momobunnies without mouths, but feel free to sew on a mouth if you like. To finish it off plant your cute little bunny cactus in the small clay pot. Easy as pie!
