One perk of running Momomints is the opportunity it has given us to meet new people, or rather that it has motivated us to really get out there and network with people of similar interests. And our first Etsy Craft Party in Vancouver, was just that: a great opportunity to craft and meet new local Etsy sellers and crafters.
We love the idea of a craft party and were super excited when we found out that Emi of Whiskers and Lipstick was organizing one at West Elm, an amazing modern furniture and home decor store in Vancouver.
We brought along our little Pink Cotton Candy MomoFluufie as a companion and were surprised with lovely treats that Emi had organized for us.
Each attendee was given a goodie bag of crafting supplies and a cute little Etsy name tag.
Emi had designed us a special craft activity for the evening, making little felt embroidered birds.
They were the perfect activity for everyone. With a mix of Etsy sellers and local crafters of different skill levels, these were both simple yet super adorable.
We love the finished product which looks great as a little cake topper, or in this case, as a friend for our amigurumi MomoFluufie sheep.
At the party we were seated next to Cheryl of Quirky Paper Co, who we have previously met at the Got Craft? Spring market. It was great to finally properly introduce ourselves as well as chat with her about her experiences at different local craft fairs and markets. She is quite new as a seller but you can tell that with her talent, she has much in store!
And how could we not be excited to run into Lana of LanaBetty again! Therefore the many photos that we took! And she was very clever in suggesting using the lovely West Elm furniture setting for our group photo =).
It’s a great feeling to be a little bit more involved and integrated into the local crafty community and to run into familiar faces here and there. We had a great time and look forward to the exciting events Emi has instore for us all later this year! Do follow our friends on Instagram @lanabetty, @emi_lerzo, @quirkypaper for more photos and for possible future crafty events!
Big thanks again to Emi. She has also provided us with the following photos of the event:
