In our last post we mentioned that we were going to be a part of the JustMoCah Meet-up Event in Vancouver! They have just posted their re-cap video on Youtube and so we are excited to share with you some of our photos from the event with these two lovely girls from Youtube!

The event was a little gathering with some JustMoCah supporters and friends at a park in Vancouver. We had a little picnic and played some fun games!

The girls also prepared this handmade DIY edible fruit arrangement! What a clever idea! We definitely will keep this idea in mind for future events!

Sami was able to attend the event to represent Momomints! And her friends Linda and Jacky also came in support! Thanks Linda and Jacky! You can see them make an appearance in the JustMoCah Youtube video, and you can see how much fun was had!

Momomints also contributed some custom handmade items for the goodie bags that JustMoCah prepared for all of the attendees.

Our contribution involved over $100 value in goodie bag gifts for the meet-up! It was a very big bulk order! Sami handmade each paperclip charm, molding them and hand-painting each one!

The goodie bag included other items including some favourites from the girls as well as a coupon from Riz Herbosa DG Design + Photography, a gift tag from Giveable Greetings on Etsy, and a Instagram cookie from Andrea’s Oven.

Both Monique and Micah were great hosts! When we met up to deliver the goodie bag gifts, we actually sat at a coffee shop and chatted for over an hour! They also gave us a lovely personalized thank you card and some chocolates as a thanks. We really appreciate these little touches!

We had so much fun at this event, both in attending and making the custom paperclip organizers! We hope all the attendees loved their gift from us and we greatly thank the sweet girls of JustMoCah! Do check out the video! It was so much fun!

Etsy Craft Party at West Elm Granville in Vancouver Organized by Emi of whiskersandlipstick

Etsy Craft Party at West Elm Granville in Vancouver Organized by Emi of whiskersandlipstick

One perk of running Momomints is the opportunity it has given us to meet new people, or rather that it has motivated us to really get out there and network with people of similar interests. And our first Etsy Craft Party in Vancouver, was just that: a great opportunity to craft and meet new local Etsy sellers and crafters.

We love the idea of a craft party and were super excited when we found out that Emi of Whiskers and Lipstick was organizing one at West Elm, an amazing modern furniture and home decor store in Vancouver.

We brought along our little Pink Cotton Candy MomoFluufie as a companion and were surprised with lovely treats that Emi had organized for us.

Emi had designed us a special craft activity for the evening, making little felt embroidered birds.

They were the perfect activity for everyone. With a mix of Etsy sellers and local crafters of different skill levels, these were both simple yet super adorable.

We love the finished product which looks great as a little cake topper, or in this case, as a friend for our amigurumi MomoFluufie sheep.

At the party we were seated next to Cheryl of Quirky Paper Co, who we have previously met at the Got Craft? Spring market. It was great to finally properly introduce ourselves as well as chat with her about her experiences at different local craft fairs and markets. She is quite new as a seller but you can tell that with her talent, she has much in store!

And how could we not be excited to run into Lana of LanaBetty again! Therefore the many photos that we took! And she was very clever in suggesting using the lovely West Elm furniture setting for our group photo =).

It’s a great feeling to be a little bit more involved and integrated into the local crafty community and to run into familiar faces here and there. We had a great time and look forward to the exciting events Emi has instore for us all later this year! Do follow our friends on Instagram @lanabetty, @emi_lerzo, @quirkypaper for more photos and for possible future crafty events!

Big thanks again to Emi. She has also provided us with the following photos of the event:

Last week we had the opportunity to attend another local craft meet-up organized with Danielle of @whythisbox, at a sweet little waffle cafe in Vancouver called Le Petit Belge. With our last craft meet at Aberdeen with Kym of @herrohachi being so much fun, we were all eager to plan our next! This time we opened up the event to more crafters and friends including Eli & Rach of @onanaknits, Diana of @craftedvan and some friends of Danielle’s – @rainelam @vaquita @jennshum.

Last time we made Artist Trading Cards and thought it would be neat to make buttons together! Everyone prepared some printouts and brought some magazines, stickers, washi tapes and various coloured pens ready to craft it up!

Printouts were cut into circles using a very handy circle cutter tool. We were super excited to make new buttons for Momomints!

One of which featured our popular whale keycharms. Other button images we prepared featured our other Momomints products as well as some simple ones with our logo.

Not only did we all enjoy a lovely evening of crafting, but we were hosted by the lovely Le Petit Belge with amazing waffles! They are a new little cafe that Danielle had discovered and they were very welcoming in letting us have our event at their cafe.

We also all traded buttons with each other and everyone was able to take home a keepsake from the night. We hope to continue this idea for our future meets! Soon we’ll have a collection of everything we’ve made at our craft meets in Vancouver.

Vancouver Crafters Meet-up: Crafting supplies galore!

Vancouver Crafters Meet-up: Crafting supplies galore!

On a Friday evening in Vancouver, a few local crafters had a mini meet-up at Aberdeen Centre in Richmond, BC. It was a fun night of meeting new friends, getting to know each other better, sharing stories and (of course) lots of crafty-ness!

This was just a mini meet-up with Danielle of @whythisbox, Kym of @herrohachi and of course us! Thanks goes to Kym for organizing this mini meet-up! We’d love to grow this little group and invite even more local crafters in the near future!

For this meet-up Danielle introduced us to Artist Trading Cards (ATC). None of us had ever worked with these before but were very excited to try! We were all asked to bring a few supplies and of course Marissa brought along all her washi tape! Lucky us!!! Kym also brought along some cute papers and pink pipe cleaners, while Sami supplied some coloured pens.

Thanks to Danielle of @whythisbox for introducing us to ATCs!

We all had so much fun decorating our cards. It was a great activity for us all to just express our own crafting styles and everyone did an amazing job! After everyone was done decorating their cards, we each traded with each other so that everyone had a little souvenir to keep from the night.
