It has been quite the journey over the past couple of years with Momomints. Lots of good memories and experiences that I’ll forever be grateful for but there comes a time when all good things must come to an end. For me it means saying goodbye to Momomints. It was a very difficult decision to make but a decision I felt would be best for Momomints and myself.
Sometimes as a creative individual you go through something called a “creative hiatus” (thanks to Krista from Raincity Knits for the catchy phrase). And over the past year it has been a challenge balancing life, work and the business. When I read Steppie’s (@thesteppie) blog post about why she decided to close her shop the Steppie it felt very close to home and I was so relieved to know there was someone else out there that was going through the same thing I was. I felt that I too lost my creative spark and focus.
I’m sure you must be wondering what does this all mean for Momomints? Momomints is not going anywhere. Sami will still be running the shop. However, the shop will no longer carry the amigurumi items and kits that I make.
When one door closes a new door opens full of new adventures and possibilities. Over the past few months I’ve been rediscovering that balance and focus in my life. I’ve been learning lots of new things, working on projects I put on the back burner and spending quality time with friends and family. I also started getting back into the wonderful world of knitting. It felt so natural to be pulled back into the fiber world and then a light bulb went off. I knew something was missing in my life – the handmade community and a creative outlet. I’m happy to say that it’s not goodbye for my amigurumi items and I will be creating original content for the handmade community again soon!
I would like to give a big heartfelt thank you to everyone that has made my Momomints journey so wonderful and for all the support over the years! I will miss you all dearly but I’m also excited with what this new adventure will bring.
